Dr. Ruha Benjamin asks: “Whose imagination is at the heart of new technology?” in her ISTE2016 Keynote Speech

“So that when we think about what it means to integrate technology in education, I want us to move beyond questions of “access”, however important, and to think carefully about questions of design—by whom and to what ends? Whose imagination is at the heart of new technology? We need to develop, in ourselves and in our students, a kind of “socio-technical literacy” that can penetrate the shiny advertisements being sold to us.”
