how to curate content to engage students in discovery + creation + collaboration

Discover. Create. Share. That’s what the Smithsonian Learning Lab site encourages- and makes it so easy!- all educators to do with their learners.

What a fantastic opportunity to bring in the vast resources of the Smithsonian into the classroom in a meaningful way! The site offers opportunities to curate intriguing images to spark creativity in discovering patterns, unlocking connections, and stringing together themes!

There are already some curated images- called collections- by educators. A simple search reveals many themes. I especially LOVE the ones that incorporate the Harvard Zero Project Making Learning Visible routines that promote inquiry-based learning like the one on Civil War.
